In the space of 6 months, we have been privileged to visit Liverpool twice to see how some of our funds are being used.
The first visit, in November 2023, was to meet James, the PhD student we are funding, and to renew acquaintance with other members of the LOORG staff. We were given another tour of the research labs and James explained to us in detail the work that he is carrying out.
Our second visit, yesterday, was the the St Paul’s Eye Unit, in the new Royal Liverpool University Hospital, where for the first time we saw the new ultrasound machine which Wendy’s Wish purchased. We were delighted to hear this machine described as a ‘game changer’ and to know that it is doing exactly what Wendy wanted and making a difference in diagnosing the various forms of eye cancer.
Huge thanks to all our supporters, who continue to give generously to our charity.
